TOUR REPOR Whenever I’m flying with my guitars, I am mighty glad when I see them arriving on the baggage carousel in one piece. First up was Mister B’s which is said to be the smallest music venue in Munich. And though it is small, it has a proper stage, a good PA and lighting. Since Mr B’s is a cocktail bar, I was lucky enough to sample a few – shaken not stirred! The atmosphere was very relaxed, I enjoyed playing there and hope to do so again next year. I can recommend this bar to musicians and to anyone who wants to have a good night out in Munich. Next up was the Shakespeare in Salzburg where I played two years ago. It was a very decent turn out considering what happened when I arrived. About two hours before the start of the concert, the manager informed me that his mixing desk wasn’t working, which meant no PA, no amplification in a fairly big venue. Slight panic took over and my friend Nick, the sound man, made a few phone calls. His buddy, Ringo Novak who was on a train in Germany, came to the rescue. Luckily for me, he was just a few miles from Salzburg. When he arrived at the station he went straight home, picked up his mixing desk and appeared at the venue at around 7pm in time for a soundcheck – thank you Ringo, you saved my posterior! For this concert, my daughter Stella Eva did the support. She is a singer/songwriter and you can check out her songs on her YouTube channel @stellaevamusic8847. Then it was on to Little Stage in Vienna which in fact isn’t little at all. Great venue and good attendance though quite a few of my friends and also my support, Stella Eva were ill with cold/flu. Last gig was in my hometown Budapest at the Café Zsivágó where I hired sound man György Cserhalmi , who provided and operated the PA. He did a sterling job, such a nice guy. Köszönöm szépen ,György ! Stella Eva did the support again, to great acclaim. I’d better be careful, soon I’ll be supporting her! It was a great tour and I’d love to play more dates next year in Hungary and in Austria.
