Betty’s doin’ fine, doctor says she’s alright
She was very ill but she really put up a fight
Her mama, how she cried
Sitting at her bedside most every night
Waiting for Betty to open her eyes
It was//touch and go, whether she would survive
Now Betty’s doin’ fine, doctor says she’s alright
She was very ill but she really put up a fight
Her daddy couldn’t sleep a wink
While his daughter’s life was on the brink
Despair filled his head
Tormented by anguish and dread
Yeah Betty’s doin’ fine, doctor says she’s alright
She was very ill but she really put up a fight
In years to come when she grows up this will affect
her life for sure, for sure
Nothing ever be the way that it was before, before
So many things that mattered then, now don’t matter anymore
Well Betty’s doin’ fine, doctor says she’s alright
She was very ill but she really put up a fight
Her mama, stopped cry-in’
No more worrying no more sighing
Betty’s getting better all the while
Lo and behold she managed a smile
Betty’s doin’ fine doctor says she’s alright
Betty’s doin’ fine doctor says she’s alright
Betty’s doin’ fine doctor says she’s alright
