Thunderclap Newman Band rehearsal #4 ‘The Old Corn Mill”

by István on October 21, 2026 in 2026

This was a, let’s say, somewhat raucous rehearsal with some very experimental camera work by one Edward “Banana Splayed Relationship” Green who had bought the camera only a few days before recording. Andy told me that the old corn mill, where Thunderclap Newman rehearsed, was a little country cottage in Surrey. In his excellent book “Hollywood Dream- The Thunderclap Newman Story” Mark Ian Wilkerson describes how the band spent time horsing around at a riding school nearby, having fun. At this point I’d like to say that you should have a listen to the album “Hollywood Dream” by Thunderclap Newman. Produced by Pete Townshend, it’s a gem of a record!

Line-Up in this video as follows:

Andy “Thunderclap” Newman – keyboards, tin whistle; David Buckley – lead vocals; Antonio Spano – drums; Brian Jackson – bass; Stefanos Tsourelis – lead guitar; István Etiam – vocals and rhythm guitar
