60 years ago, it was Lift Off for Yuri Gagarin, the first man in space.It’s also Lift Off for the release of my song ‘Yuri Gagarin’ on 7” vinyl. It was first recorded at Moon Studio Croydon and subsequently re-recorded and re-mixed and is available in digital form on all platforms.
With this song I’d like to commemorate and celebrate Gagarin’s historical achievement. Listen to ‘Yuri Gagarin’ and give me some feedback. And finally, a sobering thought: there were no manual controls in the Vostok, Gagarin couldn’t just flick a switch and override the automatic controls. If things had gone wrong, he would have either crashed to earth and burned or drifted into outer space forever.
